Epiphany Indulgence-fotd

When I got home on Thursday I found a small package waiting for me. My Father had apparently opened it for me thinking it was my new hard drive. I pulled out the small golden bag to stare at the pretty eyeshadows I had bought. I'm on a no buy until I find a job so this was a small indulgence. I had been wanting to try Persephone minerals since Grey, Phyrra and Mika-chan had done swatches/reviews.

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of the sample bags. Those are to be saved for a sunny day. :D I'm really in love with these shadows. I can't wait to use them more!

Golden Girls/Classy Brass-Cassie FOTDs

Cassie came to my house on Easter weekend. We had both had difficult weeks full of stress and anxiety. Julia would have come but sadly she works at an on campus sandwich shop. These two looks I did on Cassie while we were extremely bored. I enjoy working on other people. It's fun to do different skin types or eye colors. If I have a "client" I usually like going with colors that compliment their skin tone or eye color.

Dreaming in Blue-Fotd

I finally figured out the best way to use poison plum. You take a denser blended brush, pile on the shadow then tap on and blend. I used the E.L.F. studio contouring brush to achieve this. The brush is one of the best three dollars I've ever spent. I don't know of any dupes for this brush but that's because I don't really invest in fancy brushes. If you think you know of a good dupe for the brush please leave it in the comments below.

I thought I'd try a different way of taking close up shots of the eye make-up. If you click on it the picture will become bigger and you will be able to see the sparkles better. (As well as my huge pores.)

My fiance repaired my laptop for me! He was able to save some files but we haven't put them on my new hard drive yet. (Apparently the problem was my hard drive. (Doctor Who aired yesterday did anyone get to watch it? I was at a friend's house so I missed it. Thankfully I recorded it on my DVR so I can watch it next weekend.)

Laptop Issues

My laptop has suddenly stopped working as of yesterday. I may not be able to blog this week even tho my fiance is allowing me to use his laptop for a while. As soon as I get it fixed I'll post a few looks for you. :D

Possessed by Clara Bow-Experiment

I know I've been doing a lot more experiments lately but that's because I haven't had the time to put on make-up. I'm trying to keep up with school and study for the exams that are coming up really soon. I've never been a very serious student so trying to get started early on things is new to me. Hopefully I'll be able to make more posts once this semester is over.

I wanted to do something fun the other night with my make-up. I had been looking at flappers on tumblr when I realized I haven't done a true flapper girl look. I've done either looks inspired by or close to flapper girl style but nothing like this. I don't usually work well with black which is why it took me so long to do this. The eyeshape isn't 100% right but my eyeshape doesn't look good with a completely round eyeshadow look. All in all I love how this turned out. I even love my hair. I wish I knew how to do finger waves!

Where Soul Meets Body-fotd

After a long stressful week of paper writing it was time to relax. So I grabbed Julia, Cassie and Shaun to go to the hookah bar. I haven't been wearing much make-up this week so applying this was fun. Pink eyeshadow look really awesome with my mostly grey/black outfit. My friends and I took the obligatory "smoke coming out of our mouths looks cool" photographs until the people around us were annoyed with the flash. I was able to take several cool/artsy photos, my favorite being the very first picture.

When I went home for the weekend I took Cassie with me. We hung around my house causing trouble. It wsa so nice to go home with nothing to worry about. I have only three weeks left in the school year now, so I have to get my ass in gear and start studying for finals. Three weeks seems like a long tome to study but I need it.

Anime Girl Ai-experiment

I love anime, just not as much as my best friend. She's constantly introducing me to new animes and getting me addicted to new shows. When we were children our favorite shows were Gundam Wing,Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. We wrote hilariously bad self inserts for each show. The best fan fiction she had ever written was a detail Sailor Zodiac series. It was over ten chapters long! It included made up love interests for our self inserts as well as an insane villain. This bred a lot of fight scenes which meant some of them were acted out. (Yes, I am admitting to LARPing Sailor Moon style. I have no shame!) Our brothers made the best bad guys.

She's not a writer anymore because of school but she is a Japanese Major. I keep trying to get her to write an anime review blog. Hopefully with enough peer pressure she'll give in to start one in the summer.

Further Down the River-Fotd

I wore this Sunday when I was on my way back to Kent. I really like the different color lower lids for spring. It's very fetching and fresh. :D As soon as I got back my friend Kevin ushered my fiance and I into his car. We drove around listening to his new 90's "mixed c.d." playlist. Since I've been at school I haven't had much time to listen to music or read. The music he played brought me back to a happier time. It also inspired me to keep going. I survived childhood, my tween years and teenhood to get to this point. I know I can make it as a young adult on my own. (O.k... not alone... more like in a dorm room away from my parents for longer than a week.)
