Loki'd-Experiment

Have you seen The Avengers yet? I haven't! I loved Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and even one of the Hulk movies that no one seems to like. My favorite bad guy out of all the movies is Loki, not only is he adorable in an evil yet vulnerable kind of way but he's also all sorts of bad ass. I'm really excited that he's the bad guy in The Avengers I can't wait to see it. In the mean time I did a Loki inspired look. I wish I had used some Lady Loki inspo, in the comics Loki can turn from a man to a woman. A really really hot woman by the way.

In Nordic mythology Loki is the God of mischief. He's been known to cause trouble where ever he goes. He's killed a few ice giants and gods in his time and even mated with a horse. He's known to have a silver tongue able to talk anyone into anything. He's charming but damn is he tricky.

Alrightie quick question, which camera do you prefer? The Rebel which I used in this post or the Nikon I used to use. The Rebel has better depth, is true color wise but is a pain in the butt to use for close up shots of the eye. My little Nikon is perfect for close up shots but doesn't always show the depth certain eyeshadows have. Which camera would you guys like to see me use?

Lyra's Compass-fotd

For my Fantasy Fiction class we had to read The Golden Compass which surprisingly I've never read. As a child I read constantly, I would even read in class, hiding my books between text book pages. The Golden Compass is about a young girl Lyra and her daemon Pan who live in Jordan college who is not your average childhood book character. She's described as being half wild and a great liar. A daemon is a person's soul outside of their body that takes the form of an animals.Her adventure starts when she saves her Uncle from a poisoned bottle of wine while the children of the town begin to disappear including her best friend Roger. The book is well written as well as intensely engaging. When I have children my girl's are going to read this book instead of Twilight. Strong female character who travel all the way to the arctic while battling child nappers and learning about Dust? Way better then simpering, sullen teens who can't figure out which supernatural boyfriend to pick. (Uhm...I don't like Twilight very much sorry.) This look is based on her golden compass or alethiometer, it's a symbol reader that can tell you the future. Being able to read it is one of Lyra's many talents. I chose the blue in the crease to represent her journey North to rescue her Uncle and friend's from the Gobblers. Go read this book, I'm serious. You'll love it.

I really like this look, I'm sort proud of the blending too. Oh! I almost forgot! You guys always ask how I get my crease wing so crisp and clean well cheat. I use a damp q-tip to straighten out the wing as well as correct any errors. I should probably put up a video to show how I do my eye make-up but I'm a little nervous about tutorials. Now I'm off to go write some papers for this class and study for German. Whooo!

My Little Pony:Friend Ship is Magic PINKIE PIE-fotd

Lillian inspired me to do my own My Little Pony Friendship is Magic look. I chose Pinkie Pie because she is my all time favorite. I love her hyper insanity and need to make others feel welcome. Most people would peg me as a Rarity kind of girl but Pinkie Pie holds my heart. (She was also my favorite in the old old ollllddd 80's version.) I've actually only watched three episodes Friendship is Magic but tomorrow I think I'm going to marathon it.

Jubliee-X-men fotd

Ah! I should have added the blue on the lower lash line to make it look more authentic. (Her costume is pink,yellow and blue.) Jubilee has the ability to create firecrackers or mini explosions in her hands. She can throw them to distract people or she can blow crap up with the little balls of energy. She was Wolverine's sidekick in the 90's, her Peter Pan like attitude worked well with his grumpy worldly personality. She grew to think of him as a father since her own Father and Mother were murdered by assassins. Her parents were Chinese immigrants who came to America to escape said assassins. Later on there is a whole bunch of business about her becoming a vampire and blah blah.

Sorry the blurbs don't contain all the story lines the character has been through. Marvel retcons story lines so much a person can't always keep them straight.

Emma Frost is a bad ass. When the X-men first met Emma she was known as the White Queen in the baddy group called the Hellfire Club. She's a very selfish, haughty young woman whose powers reflect her icy nature. She can turn into a diamond and use her telecentic powers to make your boyfriend cheat on you. (Bad Scott Summers! BAD!) She is defiantly the favorite bad girl of the Marvel universe. That's why I decided to do this cool toned pin-up look. Emma doesn't need dramatic make-up to catch the guys. Her cool attitude and mental fuckery makes them wanting more.

Pixie-An X-men fotd

Pixie is my all time favorite mutant. With fairy wings, black eyes and pink hair she is very bubbly and chatty. She has a dagger that's actually a piece of her soul that she can use to fight. She's one of the newer mutants and didn't have her own story line until much later in the comic. I think a lot of people can pick out a mutant and feel "close" or similar to that character. I defiantly feel like Pixie and I are similar especially with the whole bubbly attitude.

Thank you so much for your feed back on Deep Space Nine. I'm excited now! Someone asked if I liked Voyager... uhm YES. Captain Janeway does not get enough credit. She is a BAFF, a bad ass father fuckah. Have you seen what she can do? She can convert a borg and make her part of her crew. Did Picard do that? No! Though Picard is just as awesome.

Now that I have this I'm totally going to do a Pinkie Pie inspired look. Tomorrow I'm doing an Emma Frost look involving a bit of glitter and a classic pin-up look turned icy. Apparently X-men First Class did well enough for the producers to look into two other films. I won't lie to you I'm a bit excited as well as worried. The last X-men movie was terrible, I hope they don't ruin the story.

Betazoid-fotd

I love the awesomeness that is Star Trek the Next Generation. You might be shocked to know that I have ever seen it. I'm a huge science fiction fan but for some reason I stayed away from Star Trek until recently. I won't lie to you, I was very into Star Wars as a child/tween. I wrote terrible terrible fan fictions where I became a Jedi. I couldn't stomach Star Trek because it moved to slowly for me. There was to much diplomacy, to much filler. Now that I'm older I've come to enjoy the story line and the mythos behind the legendary Star Trek. One of my favorite characters on the show is Deena Troy, the half Betazoid empath. Her make-up is really well done. It's almost Arabic in nature with a small cut crease. I applied it a bit heavier on myself but I do think my look is very similar to the make-up she wears in the show. I even tried to shoop the second picture to give the look a bit more of a betazoid feel. (Betazoids have black eyes.)

I love Criminal Minds. It's become one of my favorite shows thanks to the tech goddess Penelope Garcia. Seriously this girl is awesome. She's smart, classy and dresses really cute. Her make-up is always impeccable I could go on fawning about her forever. She's the reason I dyed my hair red with a pink streak. Whilst watching it yesterday night I noticed she had very shimmery/glittery green lid color with a purple lower lash line. I'm pretty sure she was wearing m.a.c.'s candy yum yum lipstick which looked really cute with her bright pink cheeks.

Lord Apophis-Fotd

Apophis is many things. The snake that fights Ra when the sun goes down, the cruel ruler over several solar systems and the one of the first villain's in Stargate Sg-1. He was SUCH a douche. He never seemed to die. I think they killed him off three different times in the show. Like Daniel Jackson he just couldn't stay dead!

He was one of my least favorite villains to be honest. I really love Ba'al who I will probably be doing a look for too. Though I'm not sure I can pull of arrogant and bearded it's kind of difficult. The pictures are a little edited I just changed color tone a bit.

Cherry Blossom Potpourri-Experiment

Like the glam rock stars of the 70's I attempted to do a Geisha inspired look. By NO MEANS is this anywhere CLOSE to what an authentic Geisha actually wears her make-up. Yes the skin is paled, the lips are red and the eyebrows are drawn on but it's certainly not to this extreme. Most Geisha's (though there are few true Geisha's left now. They are more like a novelty.) don't wear much make-up. It's their Maiko's who where the tradition whited out face and neck with drawn on eyebrows and smaller shaped lips. (They don't do heart shaped lips but rather smaller lower lips with pointed cupids bows. To watch a Maiko apply make-up here's a link! ) I learned a lot of this by talking to people that actually know the Japanese culture and are just as irked as me when women where it wrong.
