Nebula of the Waste-fotd

I've been doing a lot of neutral eyes lately. I needed to shake out the purples and take care of some colorful urges. Now that Spring is on it's way I feel more inspired and motivated. I never realized how affected my mood was by the weather, being an adult is weird man.

What I used:

Eyes-
TFSI
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeshadow pencil in Delinquent
Darling Girl cosmetics Glitter Glue
Darling Girl Diamond Dust e/s in Sushi Flower (A sparkle-holics dream, blue/purple patted on the lid.)
Fyrinnae e/s in Shinigami (Deep plummy purple blended as a cat eye shape up from the lid into the crease.)
Fyrinnae Arcane Magick e/s in Faerie Glamour (Royal violet/perwinkle used on the inner corner of the crease, blended into Shinigami.)
Fyrinnae e/s in Otherworld (Sheer aqua used to highlight the brow bone and inner corner of the lid.)
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Perversion
NYC liquid eyeliner in black
Mascara

lips-
Essence Lipgloss in Bubble Babe

Some awesome swatches are coming your way guys! I can't wait to show you!

Sweet like Sugar Venom Oh Yeah-fotd

In a past post I mentioned how I was obsessed with the singer Lana Del Ray. An indie mermaid who sounds like Nancy Sinatra if she slept with drug dealers and drank bourbon out of the bottle. Her lyrics borderline on the obsessive or morbid depending on the song, though simple they invoke an image of cracked out tainted love that reminds me of Sid and Nancy. I must admit her music is not as deep as say Tori Amos but it certainly is enjoyable. (Especially if you are a big mushy romantic like me.)
I did my make-up as if I were applying it to her face. I kept her much loved cat eye shaped liner and nude lips while adding a pop of color. It was difficult to contour my nose into the shape her nose is but I tried damn it, I tried. My lips are nice and plump naturally but I couldn't take my lips to the poison injected height Lana's are without the help of highlighting and dark brown lip liner. I usually hate nude lips on me but I loved the way they turned out for this look.

What I used:

Eyes-
TFSI
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeshadow pencil in Sin
Fyrinnae e/s in Rapunzel Had Hair Extensions (A sheer gold peach patted on the lid.)
Fyrinnae e/s in Te Amo (A pretty bronze flecked taupe used in the crease.)
Wet n Wild Vanity palette (Shimmery brown used to deepen crease.)
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Mildew (Used to rim the lower lash line and waterline.)
Sleek Bohemian palette (Metallic olive used to set Mildew on the lower lash line. The pale matte ivory is what I used to highlight. I also used to the matte black to trace out my cat eyeliner shape.)
NYC liquid eyeliner in black (Used to trace the wing, stopping in the middle of the lid.)

lips-
Foundation(Patted the lips to lightly to hide natural pigmentation.)
Random nudey-brown toned lip liner (Used to line top and bottom lip, shading in the sides to add depth.)
Nyx round lipstick in Circe (A pale nude lip patted on the middle of the lip and smudged outward lightly.)
Wet n Wild Vanity palette e/s in Tan (Run along the bottom on the lower lip to create a false shadow for depth.)

What do you think? Do you like Lana Del Ray? Is your music taste a bit different? I'd love to hear about who you like that's new in the music world. Then we can share the musical love!

Purple Caberet-fotd

For some reason I could not get this look to photograph, the pictures all came out blurry and muddled. The color wouldn't show through despite the brightness of the purple. I blame it on the bad weather that we always seem to have. Spring is my least favorite season in Ohio everything is swampy, cold and just generally crummy. Excuse my complaining this is around the time I get a hobbit sized, or rather Baggin's sized want to travel. This means I become rather crabby about my surroundings. Luckily a trip to the park cheers me up especially if I have my camera with me!

What I used:

Eyes-
TFSI
Detrivore primer
Darling Girl Glitter Glue
Fyrinnae e/s in Snow Bunny (Light pinky toned lilac used on the very inner corner of the lid.)
Fyrinnae e/s in Sequined Master (Shimmery purpled applied on the lid.)
Fyrinnae e/s Catrina Caberet (Purple toned grey used in the crease.)
Wet n Wild palette in Vanity (Shimmery ivory used to highlight.)
Wet n Wild liquid eyeliner
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Perversion
Nyx jumbo e/s pencil in Milk
Mascara

lips-
Wet n Wild shimmering lip balm

Tomorrow I have to rove around my school taking a few pictures for my photography class. Luckily there are a few "nature-y" parts near by but unluckily I am sick. I'm going to have a long day at school tomorrow already (From 10 in the morning till 10 at night ugh.) being sick isn't going to make it easier. Wish me luck!

Breakfast at Tiffany's-fotd

I'm super lazy when it comes to my hair. I rarely do much with it besides blow dry and leave it down. But now that I have long hair for the first time in my life I can do the cute hair styles I've fantasied about since I was young. My hair has been chin length or shorter since I was three. I know that's really rare, especially now a days but I'm glad I had short hair.
The other day I started watching tutorials on youtube for hair ideas. That;s where I got the idea to do a side bun. My friend loved it and declared I looked like Aubery Hepburn, which lead me to do this simple, pretty pin-up look.

What I used:

Face-
L'oreal True Match Liquid foundation
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Amused
Wet n Wild Vanity Palette (Shimmery ivory applied to the cheek bones.)

Eyes-
TFSI
Detrivore Primer
Fyrinnae e/s in Koala (A rosy taupe used in the crease.)
Fyrinnae e/s in Platinum (Shimmery mix between silver and gold applied to the lid.)
Wet n Wild Vanity Palette (Matte ivory applied to brow bone and shimmery ivory applied over top.)
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeshadow pencil in Sin (Applied to the waterline.)
Wet n Wild 24 hour liquid liner (This has a bit of a transfer problem for whatever reason.)
Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes (Great brush, runny formula. I'm unsure if I like this.)

lips-
Wet n Wild lipstick in Taja Mauve-hal

This look may be simple but it is really flattering on a lot of people. My friends were giving me compliments left and right. It was nice haha! So Valentine's Day is tomorrow what are you guys planning to do? My Fiance and I are going to...well actually I have no idea. Maybe we'll go out to dinner but otherwise I don't know. I hope we do something fun!

Dragon's Blood Forest-fotd (2/2/12)

Thanks to Kathy I'm now addicted to Lana Del Rey's song Videogames. I've been listening to it for the past few days constantly. Along with Miss Lana's song I've been obsessing over the BBC tv show Sherlock. It's written by Steven Moffat, the genius behind the most recent Doctor Who seasons. I've watched the three episode series nearly four times now watching it with other people. I can't find the second season anywhere because of *coughillegalcough* reasons and I'm not about to buy the second season. Hopefully it will be on Netflix soon so I can obsess over it.

What I used:

Eyes-
TFSI
Detrivore Original Primer
Darling Girl Glitter Glue (Just patted on the lid.)
Shiro cosmetics e/s Kokiri Forest (My favorite green-gold swooped into the crease.)
Darling Girl cosmetics e/s Dragon's Breath (Muted green with heavy gold shimmer patted onto the lid.)
Sleek Bohemian palette (Matte black used to line the upper lash line and create a wing.)
Sleek Bohemian palette (Matte ivory used on brow bone to highlight.)
Wet n Wild Vanity palette (Shimmery ivory used on the brow bone to highlight.)
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Flipside
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeshadow stick in Clash (Used over Flipside to create a unique teal/turquoise.)
Tarte Lights! Camera! Lashes! Mascara

lips-
Nyx Round lipstick in Tea Rose

What are you guys obsessed with right now? Any make-up brands or tv shows or books? Right this second I'd like to be playing with my Moon Rabbit Cosmetic samples but I'm to sick. At least I can still blog without contaminating my make-up.

As a parting gift let me leave you some link loving!

Cranberry Torte-fotd (1/31/12)

So many food based titles! Oh dear! After seeing at all the looks Robyn has been making using the Sleek Bohemian palette I broke mine out and did this one. I haven't touched my sleep palette in who knows how long. Which is a shame considering how beautiful and pigmented the shadows are. I'm officially on a no buy where eyeshadows are concerned! Until I use up some of my stock I can't click the mouse and purchase some samples like I love to do. I have a sample buying problem. Or would that technically be a commitment problem?

What I used:

Eyes-
TFSI
Detrivore Original primer
Sleek Bohemian palette
-Mushroom brown used in the crease.
-Cranberry red used on the lid.
-Purple used in the crease and blended lightly.
-Matte ivory used to highlight the brow bone.
NYC eyeliner in black
NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Perversion
Tarte Lights! Camera! Lashes!

lips-
Nyx round lipstick in Tea Rose

Sorry for the mostly forehead full face shot, I had my hair back that day. This weekend is a study one which means I'll have a few looks to procrastination with. Maybe I'll do an uber dramatic one!
