Strawberry Blonde and purple tipped-fotd (5/9/2013)

My last finale is Friday so I treated myself to some new make-up.  This school year has been a roller coaster of ups and downs I'm so glad it's over. I bought myself one of the shadows from the new Spring L'oreal collection and a   I'm really digging this new L'oreal eyeshadow, it reminds me of the pink in Urban Decay's Glinda palette. It looks really pretty if you pair it with a nice chocolate brown in the crease if you are more of a neutral eyeshadow lover. If you have difficulty using the cream/powder weird blend of shadow I recommend wetting your brush a bit it helps to intensify the color without patchiness.

What I used:

Eyes-
Wet n Wild Fergie Collection Primer
Maybelline Color Tatto in Seashore Frost (Magical duochrome-y goodness used all over the eye.)
Milani Shadow Eyez shadow stick in Royal Purple (Swiped on the lid then blended with brush on the lid.)
L'oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Strawberry Blonde (Duo-chromey goodness of pink and lavender used on the inner half of the lid as well.)
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Fishnet (Blended onto half the lid and the outer v.)
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Sellout (Perfect ivory with a small amount of shimmer used as the brow highlight.)
Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette in Petal Pusher (Red violet shadow used in the crease, then light lavender shade blended over top with an added pop of the light shimmery pink to highlight the inner corner.)
L'oreal HIP Chrome eyeliner in violet (Used to line the upper and lower lid.)
Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette in Petal Pusher (Shimmery deep purple used over the liner to deepen the color.)
Physicians Formula eyeliner pen (Used to lightly liner upper lash line and add a simple wing.)
Mascara of course.

lips-
Nyx Round Lipstick in Circe
Wet n Wild lipstick in Taj-mauve-hal placed in the inner of the lips to add pinkness.)

I love this look it's so glowy and simple to do. I may have to treat myself again and buy more of the L'oreal shadows. I hope you all did well on your finals and if you are all ready graduated college then I envy you.

Bouncy Ball of Celestial Intent-fotd (4/3/12)

Oh God how did a month already pass without me updating? Bad Helen! To be fair this is the fanciest my make-up has gotten in a while.
I haven't been buying much make-up lately since I've been focusing more on clothes. I was getting tired of only wearing tee-shirts so I revamped my wardrobe. Now it's full of dresses, cute blouses and skirts! Last year around this time I would have laughed in your face if you had suggested I wear any color other then black. Why am I rambling about this? Well, more clothes equal outfits of the day! I don't know about you but I freaking love reading fashion blogs. There's just something about those fashionistas that has me obsessed. (P.s. I'm loving this grunge revival. 90's clothes are da bomb.)

What I used:

Eyes-
Wet n wild primer
Maybelline color tattoo in Barely Branded and the white one which I am to lazy to check right now
Urban Decay e/s in Deep End (Sparkly medium teal swept lightly through the crease.)
Tarte e/s in Hampton's Waves (A matte dark mermaid teal blended onto the crease line.)
Sugarpill e/s in Mochi (Brilliant matte mint patted on the lid.)
Tarte e/s in Iceland Air (Sparkly frost white patted on the inner corner of the lid.)
Tarte e/s in Seychelles Sand (Matte grey-biege used as a transition color between the brow and crease.)
Tarte e/s Georgia Peach (Matte light peach used to highlight.)
Urban Decay Glide on shadow pencils in Clash (Bright aqua blue with silver reflects used as a base.)
Sugarpill e/s in Velocity (Matte yet intense royal blue patted on the outer corner of the lower lid.)
Tarte Mystic Seaport (Silvery-blue patted over the Clash to set.)
Nyx glide on pencil in white (My new favorite thing. I use this every day for every look.)
Mascara (Tons and tons.)
Physicians formula liquid eye liner pen (This liner pen is magic. Like it was made by angels, cute angels in trench coats...)

lips-
Clinique lipstick in Black Honey (Flattering natural plum used on inner pout.Given to me by the effervescent Kathy.)
Darling Girl lipstick in Demure (Fawn pink used to neutralize and add pink.)

What do you think? Any recent fashion trends you've been digging lately?

Any Color You Like-FOTD

In the past I've shied away from mattes. Mattes are fickle and tend not to stick on any base I use. Plus I never seem to blend them out right. So my beautiful Sugarpill colors lay untouched till I discovered the paint pot like color tattoos from Maybelline. So here's a bold look to show my new found love of mattes.

What I used:

Eyes-
Wet n Wild Fergie eyeshadow primer
Maybelliene Color Tattoo in the white color I don't recall the shade.
Milani Shadow eyez 12hr wear stick in Royal Purple (The best purple base I've ever used patted on the lid.)
Sugarpill eyeshadow in 2AM (A plummy purple patted on the lid.)
Sugarpill eyeshadow in Velocity (A royal blue placed in the inner crease.)
Sugarpill eyeshadow in Dollipop (A bright pink blended into the upper crease.)
Sugarpill eyeshadow in Poison Plum (A blue based purple to seem together the pink and blue.)
Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette in Greed (The lavender/silver color
Random Matte ivory (Used to highlight.)
Estee Lauder eyeshadow in Pink Ice (A shimmery sheer pink over the random ivory.)
Nyx glide on eyeliner in black(Used on the waterline.)
Nyx glide on eyeliner in white (used on the inner corner as a base for the lavender.)
Almay Liquid eyeliner in black
Mascara

lips-
Nyx lip liner in natural
Nyx lipstick in Circe
Nyx lipstick in Harmonica

What do you guys think? Sorry for the weird lighting, I have some new photography lights but they're way to yellow for me to enjoy. I had to cool down some of the pictures in iPhoto so they wouldn't look so odd. Anyway see you soon! I have a pretty gold look lined up to post next.

Estee lauder Pure Color eyeshadow in Pink Twinkle (Light pink with silver sparkles given to me by the wondrous and beautiful Kathy patted on the lid and down into the lower lash line.)
Almay Liquid eyeliner in Black
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Oil slick (Sparkly silver black used on the lower lash line and brought up to meet the wing.)

Hurts like Heaven-OotD (12/04/2012)

Top:Forever 21(Similar)  Cardigan: Torrid Jeans: Dots(Similar) Hat: Target   Boots:GabrielBrothers(Similar)  Earrings: Forever21(Similar)

Uh hey guys. Yes this semester is nearly at it's end! I've worked a show, I've failed a class and I declared my Major. It may not have been the best semester for me but it's certainly been one of the more exciting ones.
Oh today is my birthday! I'm officially 25! I had a mini "oh god that's my age?" freak out for like two seconds. Then I realized that age is just a number. I'm happy where my life is right now. I've grown leaps and bounds since last year. So here's to 25!
Now that my closet has expanded I hope to do more outfit of the day posts and more face of the days. What do you guys think of this look? I really love my polka dot top. Probably the best ten bucks I've ever spent ever. See ya soon!

The Good Witch (October 11,2012)-Ootd

Dress:Torrid (Similar Cut)  Cami:Dots  Sweater: Lane Bryant  Boots: Kohls (Similar)  Cuff: Hot Topic Bracelet: Craft Store  Necklace: Gift

This outfit was fun to wear, I felt really cute. I wish I could say I loved the dress but it's a bit to big on me now. The sweater adds definition without weighing the dress down. (Plus it kept me warm.) I'm not usually a hat person but damn is that hat awesome. I found it at a craft store of all places. I need at least four more of these hats in different colors so I can wear them with everything.
My friend loved this outfit. She said I looked like a kindergarden teacher that was actually a witch. She then went on to develop a whole story where I taught the children of my class how to call faeries and perform magic through dance. That's what you get for hanging out with writers all day long.
So whatcha think of this outfit? Boho or no go?
