Usually I am absolutely shart at applying black eyeshadows. They make me nervous because I can't seem to blend them as well as I like. I've never done a fully black eye but I did want to experiment a bit to see if I can ever pull off a dark lid color. I admit I stole this idea from the lovely Wendi of Make-up Zombie. I loved her most recent look where she used a black base with dark eyeshadows on the lid. It looked so pretty on her that I just had to copy it!
What I used:
Eyes-
Fyrinnae P.E.
Fyrinnae e/s in Darling Misfits (A beautiful pink with teal sparkles applied in the crease.)
Fyrinnae e/s in Sorceress (My favorite black with multi-hued sparkles used on the lid.)
Fyrinnae e/s in Meerkat (My oldest Fyrinnae shadow, a purple with gold sparkles applied over D.M.)
Fyrinnae e/s in Nijiro (Used to highlight the upper brow bone.)
Estee Lauder e/s in Pink Ice (Sparkly sheer light pink used on the inner corner of the lid.)
Almay liquid eyeliner in black
Wet n Wild concealer stick in Very Fair (Applied on the waterline.)
Mascara
lips-
Nyx round lipstick in Nyx
Oh! I have to tell you guys! While out with my friend I discovered a few eyeshadow palettes from the Wet n Wild Dreamweaver collection. I've been looking for this collection since July so I was surprised when I discovered three palettes. Happily two of the three were doubles! That means a giveaway will be coming up soon! I also discovered a 2010 Holiday palette tucked behind sale items. I was so shocked. I thought they had all been snatched up. So I tossed that in my basket and hummed happily to the cash register. I shall be posting swatches of the Dreamweaver palettes soon!
Ooooh, git you with your black lid. You look awesome! I have a thing about black as well, scury.

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty shit at applying black eyeshadow, but I'm not letting it stop me, haha XD
ReplyDeleteAnyway this is friggin BEAUTIFUL. I'm going to have to recreate your recreation of Wendi's look (makeupception!) because I love everything about it. And this is the second look I've seen today using Sorceress, so that is definitely going on my wishlist.
I absolutely adore this look! Yay for dark jewel tones!
