Mireille Eats Pins and Needles

Hello everyone!! I went Melonhead hunting last night. If you don't know what a Melonhead is you obviously don't live in NorthEast Ohio. There is this legend about a man who experimented on children to increase the size of their heads. Tired of being tortured by the psycho Doctor the children burned down the lab, murdered their captor and escaped into the Kirtland forest. They became feral from the harsh Ohio winters and scare food. Some say they even eat flesh. In the middle of the night driving on the moon light hills it's probably the scariest story you'll ever here.
We all scared our selves shit less. Oh boy I nearly cried when one of my friends screamed about something following the car. I also saw some pin pricks of light looking from up high on one of the trees. I'm hoping it was only an owl. *shudders* Ohio is full of Urban Legends like this one. I'd love to explore every one. X3

Atomic Waste FOTD inspired by FrescoPhyrra

Miss Phyrra of FrescoPhyrra has been my inspiration for two years know. I found her blog in 2008 which I'm glad to say changed my life. If it wasn't for her I would never have found Fyrinnae, Aromaleigh, Hi-Fi cosmetics and many other Indie brands that I've grown to love. Her blog taught me how to experiment with color, line my upper lid properly and broaden my make-up knowledge. For this I owe her a debt that cannot be expressed through words. A few days ago ( maybe a week I'm unsure.) Phyrra used a bright green and teal together from Concrete Minerals. I feel in love with the combo and couldn't wait to try it. I didn't use any of the same products she did but I did use very similar colors. I seriously love this look. It's very bright and stands out behind my glasses. Yaaaay!

When Life Gets You Down FOTD +Haul

Bah having a crappy few days so I needed a bright look to make me feel better. Being a lady sucks sometimes but being left behind by friends is even worse. :/ At least pokemon and the boy are making me feel better. :3
I placed my Aromaleigh order on Monday and received it Thursday which as you see is super fast. I bought two yuzu flavored lip balms, a few shadows from the en pointe collection, a shadow from the Rocks! collection, a beautiful shadow from the bette noir collection and You're a doll! Metamorphosis finishing powder which I'm probably going to order a full size of. I love it so much. :d I used a few of my new Aromaleigh stuffies in this look. :3

I don't have that many greens which put me in a great deal of a panic. It seems however that the fairies of Saint Patrick's Day didn't want me to get pinched, when I woke up this morning I found a green eyeliner I thought I'd lost months ago. Hahaha I'm convinced we have Brownies. Most Irish households do. :D I know I have black hair but that's because my family is Black Irish. The Black Irish are the descendants of French or Italian tribes that moved to Ireland sometime in the early B.C.s. Here Comes the Sun FOTD

The sun is out again after doing a two day disappearing act. I thought for sure winter was coming back. It's happened here in Ohio, one day it will be warm enough for shorts then the next day we have a blizzard. Thankfully it was just the normal spring weather aka lots of rain. I thought I'd celebrate the suns return by doing a bright pink Aromaleigh look. I have three Aromaleigh pinks Strawberry Despair, Boiling Point and Raspberry Beret, I don't care much for Raspberry Beret but I don't want to trade it or give it away since I've used a lot of it. I feel like I'd be cheating some one. So instead when I do extreme looks on other people I use it on those whose skin tone is a little darker than mine. :D Last Halloween infact I used it on my guy friend Aaron who was the tooth fairy. He couldn't get the glitter off for a week. Hee hee.
Yesterday I placed my first Aromaleigh order in about two years. I know such a long time but I wasn't really digging their formula at first. When Fyrinnae came out with Pixie Epoxy I tried some of my Aromaleigh shadows with it and I fell in love again. It goes to show that you have to have the right base for you when it comes to eyeshadows. I can't wait for my shadows to come. *grins*

Pixies on the Edge of Life FOTD

I went to the Cleveland Asian Market today. It's one of my favorite things to do since there is not much to do up here in North East Ohio. We came back with loads of food and drink some Japanese, some Chinese and a few of bits of Korean. When I go down to Columbus I usually eat all Asian food. I've become rather addicted to California rolls as well as miso soup. Mmm. Someday I hope to go to Japan. *sighs dreamily *

Gaga/Beyonce Inspired FOTD

So... Telephone. Kind of epic actually. Please excuse the face make-up I had taken this several hours after I had done it. It doesn't look very fresh but the eyeshadow and lips still look fierce. I don't usually wear bright lips but I got my Morgana Minerals Azalea Blue lipstick today in the mail. I'm IN LOVE with this shade. The first thing my best guy friend said was "WHOA girl those lips are fierce." Ha I love my friends. We danced the Lady Gaga monster dance in the drive way after that because we are weird. I saw Alice in Wonderland today. It was actually pretty good, Johny Depp didn't take over the whole movie! Yay good job. The girl who plays Alice is beautiful, I have a wee bit of a crush on her now. T.T
This look isn't dead on to any of the make-up Gaga or Beyonce had on thus the inspired by. I loved the crazy eyeliner Beyonce had on and in one of the shots she had the bright lip stick on the was a dead ringer to Azalea Blue. The colors they used I think would look a little to harsh on my face ( I'll probably do a look like that later to be honest.)

The Dreadnaught FOTD

So I'm reading Scott Westerfield's book Leviathan which has quickly become one of my new favorite books. It re-writes World War I turning it into a battle between the Darwinists or the countries that use gene splicing to create massive living air ships, huge draft animals ( think lions and ox blended together.) And the Clankers aka steampunk style land ships, air planes and plenty of weapons made before their time. It still retains some actual historical facts like the Archduke's murder being the start of the war, Britain and Russia being alias etc. It's a really good read, my kid brother read it in a day he liked it so much.
This eotd is based on the massive German land ships called Dreadnaughts that walk on many legs patrolling the Austrian mountain sides. I can't help but get swept up in the idea of steam punk. *sighs dreamily*

By doing this look I wanted to show that browns can be worn in an exciting way instead of just the boring usual way. I really like how the shape ended up. My eyes look huge when I look in the mirror.

Pixies instead of Cupcakes FOTD Based On Mika-Chan

I saw Miss Mika of Mika-Chan hearts sparkles do this amazing Fyrinnae look using Cupcake sprinkles, sennyo and nori. I have both Sennyo and Nori but I haven't bought Cupcake sprinkles even though it's a gorgeous color. Mmm lavender/lilac my favorite shade ever! When I was digging around in my make-up drawer to find something similar to Cupcake Sprinkles I found Pixies from Hi-fi. The shadow was almost dead on to sprinkles yay!

Living Large though we Cannot Speak

Holy crap Live Large GLOWS! Look at it! It's like I put a black light color on my eyes! Gah! I heart it so. In other news my best friend let me borrow her Game Boy Color and Pokemon Yellow. I'm obsessed again! I was never really a big video game player. I liked watching my friends play them but I was never able to play very long. I would get bored playing RPGs fast and fighting games can only get you so far. But Pokemon? Oh Pokemon it saved my life. Well not literally. It just saved me from boredom for an entire year. Princess Peach + Hi-Fi Haul WOOT!

Yesterday my Hi-Fi order arrived in the mail. I was on my way out the door so I had to open the envelope up in the car. I was surprised to find that there were four extra samples with me order. I squeaked loudly with glee, the colors I were given were very much to my taste and went along well with the samples I bought.
