Detrivore Haul + First Impressions

I've been wanting to place an order with Detrivore since I first heard of them a few years ago. I'm not sure what was holding me back from ordering considering I really like the products. I order a few satin eyeshadows and a few from the regular collection. Jessi's swatches helped me pick out a few colors like Harpy and Kraken. Next time I place an order I'm getting more browns as well as a Death Valley.

The texture of the shadows remind me of Fyrinnae. A little "dry" with a good slip to them when they hit primer. I'd like to see the shadows in action with the Detrivore primer because I heard it's pretty rad. The colors look plain in the bag but applied over just a primer they are a lot more complex swatches/applied. My favorite shadows are Kraken and Resistance, you'd think it'd be Harpy but lately browns have been grabbing my attention more.

I'm defiantly going to place another order soon. I want to try the blush,the primer and the primer. The swatches of the blushes look beautiful.

Sugarpill, honey bunch you know that I love you-Haul

Oh yes. My fiance bought me the Sweetheart palette. Oh my goodness I'm so happy. Now I admit I was a bit intimidated by the actual palette. I love the Sugarpill shadows but the poison plum I own is a bit difficult to blend. When I used these for the first time they blended pretty well. Not AMAZING OMG well but good enough for me to be satisfied. The actual pigmentation of the shadow is what gets me. Holy crap I just press my brush ever so slightly into Tako (the white) and it's fantastic. I'm really impressed with how bright the shadows are.

I swore Midori was going to be my favorite but this time it's Afterparty. I'm doing a full review with swatches soon ya'll!

Surprisingly there hasn't been a lot of buzz about Black Rose Minerals. Jasmine the owner of High Voltage and Heather of Eyeconic both recommended the company to me. As I mentioned in a pervious post I placed a small order and had some difficulty with the cart. I contacted Rosa over Twitter and she figured out what the problem was. I hadn't even reached the six dollar minimum. HERPADERP. Rose was very patient with me and understanding of my...brain fart. When I opened my package I was really impressed by the care that went into it. Everything was inside a small paper envelope with a stamped rose on it. The free samples, plus a coupon and the invoice were in a separate plastic baggie from the samples I bought.

Laying out my samples I was impressed by the color array but annoyed at myself for picking such "easy" colors. My annoyance was over quickly once I started to actually use the eyeshadows. All of the colors except for the two free samples (Ares, the red color and Squash, the pumpkiny orange.) and Poseidon are from the NSFW collection. There are two colors that you can only get if you buy the whole collection and those colors are Traffiking (the yellow based orange.) and Dionysus (The true purple, aka my favorite.) Ocean Potion (A pretty blue with hints of teal in it.), Dollface (The nearly magenta pink.) and Gremlin (The monster green.) are all part of BRM's regular collection. I'm defiantly ordering again. I'm looking at Peacocky which could be the perfect peacock teal that I'm looking for. Mome Rath looks super pretty too! Gah!

Do you guys stick to "safe" colors when you buy from new companies? I seem to have a lot of similar colors that I don't end up using because I have a favorite amongst those. I'm currently writing a Persephone Minerals review for all of you! Yay!

The Concrete Rabbit-Fotd/Haul

Two packages came for me yesterday afternoon. One from Concrete Minerals, the other from Kathy Jacobs. I didn't know she was sending me a care package, it was a welcomed surprise. Kathy's gifts made me cry a little. Thank you so much Kathy. I love my slippers and bracelet! I haven't tried the drink tablets but I will tonight. If you haven't checked out Kathy's blog you should. Not only is she very sweet and kind but her make-up is simply rad. Please check her out here.

The Concrete Minerals package held the three eyeshadows I ordered plus a sample size of the eyeshadow White Rabbit. I love the colors but I think I'm going to save Hearts(the red eyeshadow) for someone special. The other two colors are Temptress which is a light peacocky teal. And Wicked, an almost lavender like purple with a teal duo-chrome. The duo-chrome in these two shades is beautiful. I was expecting the shadows themselves to be a bit darker but I'm still pleased with the purchases. If you are interested in Concrete Minerals please go here. I really like the Concrete Minerals eyeshadows my only compliant is that they're a bit sheer. The duo-chrome is enough to win me over though. I'd love to use these shadows for an airy-fairy type of look. Ooo... hmm... I think I need to draw out a face chart haha.

Brandywine-fotd/haul

It's been a crappy few weeks. A lot of you who follow me on Twitter know what's happening. Thank you so much for your support and kind words. Your friendships mean everything to me. I'm not sure I would have been able to handle this tough time without your help. *Big Internet Hug*

On a lighter note my Brazen Cosmetics order came today. I knew it was going to come because Ohio was hit with a heat wave. My stuff usually comes during a weather change. My products were a bit warm from the weather but nothing seemed melty. I ordered the Mystery Grab Bag half expecting it to be full of samples. Uhm no. It had a full sized perfume, lip gloss and eyeshadow along with two samples that were given to me for free. Holy crap what a deal! I'm struggling a bit with the lip gloss though. I tried putting it on with a brush but it streaked on my top lip. (Most glosses do that though because my lips are slopped weird.)

The Great and Mighty Sugarpill-First Impressions

I was so excited to see that Sugarpill was on sale on Valentines Day that I screeched in happiness. So I placed a small order consisting of the pressed eyeshadow poison plum and the chromalust loose eyeshadow in goldilux. The order arrived quickly in a box with the adorable Sugarpill cat printed on the side. I ripped open the box and marveled at the beautiful packaging. I am not a hoarder by any means but I'm keeping the packaging just because it's so freaking cute. With my order I received a sample of the chromalust tipsy which is a frosty green color and a cute sticker. I put the sticker on my make-up storage box so I can look at the pretty holographic font every time I do my make-up.

My first impression of Sugarpill is GASJDGUAYSFDGYasgdsDOIatd98qwYQEY2 why did I wait so long to buy from Sugarpill? Next time, and there will be a next time, I'm going to buy Decro and Love+ maybe even absinthe ok royal sugar can come too. :D

I don't usually post haul's because they are far and few between for me. I don't have a job and begging my fiance for make-up seems silly. (Since a I am fully capable of getting a job.) The Fyrinnae stuff however is what my fiance got me for Christmas. I know it's late but we didn't buy anything for each other till after the holidays because of low cash flow. I have to get him a second present as well cause all I got him was a Pikachu plushie and he got me all this Fyrinnae.

The Sobe Botanicals stuff was actually sent by the lovely owner Lex. I had sent her an e-mail because I messed up my moisturizer. Despite the fact that it was my fault the moisturizer was ruined she sent me a refill of it and several shadows. The shadows are beautiful! I can't wait to use them. I will have swatches of all the shadows I got soon. :D

While at Ohyocon I bought my first pair of cyber falls or cyber dreads or cyber locks, whatever you want to call them. I really love how the go with the red in my hair. :3 I freaking LOVE THEM. So I will most likely be doing a cyber goth look soon. ;3 Do you guys want to see some pics from the con? (p.s. those awesome goggles are not mine. D:)

Haul post of DOOM

The two eyeshadow are from High Voltage, one of them (Teenage Riot, the purple one.) I won from Cacau's contest the second (Trick or Treat the orange one.) is a gift from Jasmine the owner of High voltage. I love the colors so much, gorgeous! The little round thingie is chapstick from eos, it smells like lychee! Om nom nom. The Nyx round lipstick is in Tae and the eyeliner pencil is yellow from NYX. Sorry if this seems a bit weird, I'm in the middle of writing up several papers for class. :3

Next up is my order from Sillyfarm one of the cheapest places to find Mehron, Ben Nye and other great theater type make-up. I bought myself a blood and wound wheel, liquid latex, spirit gum and horray some fake blood. I used some of the liquid latex in my most recent theater look but it smells pretty bad. The lash glue I used to use was latex based so I wonder if it's the latex that stinks like fish.

Last Living Souls-FOTD + Haul

I had finished with my hair when I realized I should check the mail for my High Voltage order. To my joy it arrived today with out being damaged by the rain. When I opened the package one of the eyeshadows had leaked slightly but it was only on the invoice and not on any of the shadows. I was surprised at how complex and shimmery the eyeshadows looked in Heartthrob one of the red eyeshadows I could see the vein of green shimmer running through it. I did receive some free samples with more order which is always a bonus. I was able to pick the samples I wanted but I only picked one out and told Jasmine to surprise me. Jasmine is the owner of High Voltage I talk to her all the time on twitter, she is super nice. When I applied the shadows the went on very creamily and blended beautifully. I'll have a more in depth review after I write the one about Shiro Cosmetics and one about Evil Shades.

After looking at these pictures I corrected the one eye that had the "wing" a lot longer then the other. I was trying to correct the darkness of the color on that side I must have forgotten about the length of the wing on the other. Er...
While I was typing this the mail came and so did the full sized Hi-Fi cosmetics eyeshadow I won. Veronica was having a contest on her facebook page where the first five people to post a picture of themselves wearing Hi-Fi shadows would win a free full sized shadow of their choice. I picked Sex, Drugs & Rock n' Roll which is a complex royal purple/blue color. I've been eyeing it for a while to tell you the truth haha.

Despite all the drama going on in the indie blogo-sphere I want everyone to remember make-up is fun. The reason we all started these blogs is for fun. Yes, there are a group of harpies who are trying to ruin the good name of other bloggers and indie make-up companies, but please be aware that if you give these women any kind of attention they will get what they want. Bad publicity is still publicity as they say. Please don't feed the trolls.

My Evil Shades order arrived today. I was so excited I ripped open the package with such vigor that the free full sized Deviant lipstick almost nailed me in the face. I laughed and opened the lipstick that wanted to attack me. It was the color Fiendish, a pretty blue/teal.

I'm hitting myself over Bane, I wish I had ordered it. The lip sticks are very pigments and glossy feeling. I don't have to put chapstick on before the lipstick because it feels like chapstick. I really love these lipsticks you should really try them!

I also went to Ulta today and bought a two polishes and a matte top coat. I'll probably post the pictures of them tomorrow since it's so dark.
