Olinda of the Seelie Court FOTD + A True Story

I'm not sure I told this story before. I may have shared it with a few of you but I believe I haven't actually written it in a long time. This is the story of how I began to believe in faeries. When I was very small my brother and I loved playing in the vast woods behind our home. The woods were very thick but welcoming. We loved chasing deer from our garden into the woods, most days we didn't follow past the barn. That day we made the mistake of going far past our property line, deep into the forest.
Before my brother and I knew it we were both very lost. At five I felt I needed to keep my spirits up. Singing songs to my two year old brother as we tromped through the ever darkening woods. It was then that we saw a light ducking through the trees. A small orb of light bobbed near us, beckoning us to follow it. Not knowing of willow-wisps or other wicked fey I followed it. With in the hour my brother and I were staring out our home over the hill. The orb had led us home! Believe it or not this is a true story. If it had not been for the small light I think we would have been hurt or killed by a wild animal in those woods. Most people I tell don't believe me.

What I used for this look:

Fyrinnae Mineral Foundation in Quartz
Aromaleigh You're A Doll Finishing Powder in Metamorphosis

Olinda e/s ( A soft but bright pink with a silver sheen used on the lid.)

Liriope e/s ( A bright pink/purple shimmery shade used lightly in the crease.)
Rosina e/s ( A shimmery almost metallic ivory white as a highlight color.)

What do you think of the look? I'd really love to hear your stories!

  5. I love this look so much! Good lord, I love it. It's going straight into my "looks to copy" file, for sure. (If only I could remember to check that file when I'm feeling uninspired, though. Oh, me.)

I believe you! I rarely talk about it, because people do tend to look askance at you when you do, but I'm pagan, so I believe in all sorts of "ridiculous" stuff. ;) Whatever, it works for me, and I like there being an element of wonder and magic in the world.
