Red Velvet and Black Tea fotd

I love how this came out. I really really like darker jewel toned eyeshadow on me I think it's very flattering with my dark hair. I love how lighter more colorful shadows look too but I just wear those for fun. A year ago make-up was "fun" for me. I wouldn't wear colorful looks out of the house because I didn't want to be looked at. I begin to collect colorful eyeshadow that seemed to over take the browns. Slowly the colors started replacing the browns and I started coming out of my shell a bit more. Make-up has helped me change my shy, withdrawn personality to a more open, confident one.
I wear eyeshadow for myself. My fiance thinks I wear it to look good but if I don't have the extra shield that make-up gives me I remain shy. I do go days without make-up if I'm feeling tired of rushed or if my skin needs a breather.
I hope everyone is having a good day. My two best friends are home for the weekend. They live in Columbus for school so they come up to visit their families and friends as much as they can. I'm going to go urban splunking with them. ( Exploring abandoned or broken down buildings.)

  1. Very pretty! I agree that jewel tones are lovely on you. And I know what you mean about makeup bringing you out of your shell - I feel the same way. I'm so introverted at heart, but makeup and particularly the friendliness of the beauty blog community have made me much more confidently sociable. :) Anyway, I'm glad you're sharing your looks (and your writing) online, because I find it inspiring. So thanks.

  2. Jewel tones look beautiful on you! Plus you can really pull off those metallic red shades.

Makeup is a great way to express yourself and try different things out: if you don't like it, you can just wash it off! I don't wear makeup to "mask" myself away, I try to use it as an extension of my personality (if that makes any sense).

    Rock on! :)

  3. These reds look awesome on you :D

I'm with Saila, I use makeup as an extension of my personality. I never really got into clothes or fashion to express myself (though I do love bright accessories and my band shirts and my obnoxious Spongebob bag) so I'm glad I discovered makeup <3
