Galaxy of Glitter Mask-Contest Entry

It's in the middle of the night and you feel a tug at your heart. You sit straight up in bed, feeling the heat of some ones gaze upon you. Dazed you look around your room, you are alone. Carefully you move out of bed trying not to disturb your cat, dog or lover. The blinds are full of light. Half slits of beaming shine flash on your bedroom floor. You tug on the string to pull the blinds out to get a good look out side. The moon shines through your window, casting an erie gleam to the air outside. Past the moon you can see millions of galaxies. They are dancing, spinning just for you. Nebulas, stars, and planets all turning to the beat of the universe. You close your eyes because the beauty is to great. A single tear slides down your cheek. You will always remember the night where the galaxies glittered just for you. Even if it was a dream.

Oh boy was this tough but fun to do. I did this for Rebellious Make-up's amazing contest. The idea is to create a mask using only make-up and then recreate in a wearable way. There are a lot of great prizes which I must admit lured me in. The tiny star earrings you get when you win first prize are adorable plus Julissa makes you something with duct tape. Her bows are really cute you should check them out on her etsy and see a few on her blog. (Please check Blog Role for some reason I can never make links. :/ It's a herp derp on my part I'm sure.) I'm not very good at masks and I'm actually even worse with glitter but some how this came out amazing. It's kind of a half mask which looks good but I'm a little afraid won't be considered. I'm sorry Julissa I hope this is what your looking for. *crosses fingers*
If you haven't already seen SilhouetteScreams then you should get on that right away. It's fucking EPIC and very ska. Two things that should always be together. *nods head so hard it bangs against things*
Yeah sorry that this is a little rambley it's nearly seven in the morning. Uhm... I couldn't sleep.

What I used:

Mask-
Hard Candy Concealer (To prep the skin and prevent staining, aka a base.)
Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Purple ( The base.)
Fantasy Makers e/sDuo in Purple/Dark Purple ( Covering the outer edge of the mask lines w/dark purple blended inwards.)
Nyx e/s in lilac ( Applied on upper brow, under the eye, top of the cheek and around the eye to fill in the rest then blended.)
Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter line in Distortion ( A teal/white glitter for the next glitter to stick to.)
Aromaleigh Rocks!sonic glitter in Masquerade (Purple glitter applied in the shape of the mask.)

Face-
Stila tinted thingie + Unnamed ivory mineral shadow sample mixed together ( To make super plastic skin.)
Estea Lauder blush palette peach color( Used to contour the cheeks and chin a bit.)
Un-named ivory mineral shadow (Re-used to add more highlight.)

Eyes-
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Hi-Fi cosmetics e/s in Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll ( A royal purple applied in a cut crease style.)
Hi-Fi cosmetics e/s in Overdose ( A royal blue applied all over the lid and then down the tear duct to make a line.)
Evil Shades e/s in Nighshade ( Applied between the royal blues and purples to add more in the outer corner crease.)
Un-nameable matte ivory shadow used on brow bone.)
Urban Decay 24/7 e/l Flipside (Teal used to connect waterline with blue line down the tear duct.)
N.Y.C. Liquid e/l in Black (To make a sexy cat eye I applied w/brush and then used angled brush to make wing.)
Mascara (And shit tons of it.)

Lips-
Morgana Minerals Lipstick in Azalea Blue
Fyrinnae Lip Luster in Lollypop-pop
Fairy Tale Glitter in Fuschia (Applied on the lips.)

*wipes brow* Man I'm bushed. Thankfully this only took a bit of tape and man power to take off all that glitter. I learned from a Drag Queen that tape is the best way to remove loads of glitter. She used it on her eyes too but I honestly wouldn't recommend it since it pulls so hard. Ouchie. I'll see you guys with the wearable version of this look later on today. :D

  2. Omg, I love it. You look like you have butterfly eyes! And if you put the tape on your hand and then pull it off and *then* use it on your eyes, there should be enough sticky left to get the glitter off
